PSP and the PS3 will be compatible [17 May 2005|03:47am]

May 16, 2005 - Sony has mentioned in the past that its new handheld and its upcoming console would get along together, but it wasn't until the big unveiling of the PS3 that concrete details have been available on how this will come together.

In its PS3 unveiling, SCE announced that the PlayStation 3 would have support for USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and online networking. Those first two are the biggest concerns for PSP owners, as Sony officially confirmed that the Wi-Fi configuration of the PS3 would allow the PSP to wirelessly connect with the home console. No wires, no connectors, no muss, no fuss. Of course, the PSP also has outlets for the USB 2.0, which might allow for corded connections as well as wireless, if necessary.

SquareEnix Leans towards Nintendo [12 May 2005|12:32am]

May 11, 2005 - A recent interview with Square Enix president Youichi Wada at Japanese site Impress Game Watch suggests good things both for Nintendo's networking plans and the next generation Revolution system.

Ask anyone who's been around since the NES days, and they'll tell you that Square broke all ties with Nintendo after Final Fanyasy III/VI(US). News of a Square game seemed unlikely to none of any upcoming Nintendo consoles, though this was shattered by the revelation of the much anticipated Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicls for the Gamecube just a year ago. Not too long before then, Squaresoft merged with Enix, who most notably held the rights to the DragonQuest series. This preference with Nintendo's new DS online plan may lead many to believe their future plans for any online gaming may lead to SquareEnix DS releases.

New colors for the DS are here! [11 May 2005|02:14am]

Great news for those who don't like the colors of the current DS, an assortmet of color variations have been released recently.

20 dollars more may seem like a steep price to pay for a variation color, but it's far less expensive than getting a custom paintjob.
